Nike 1

Background
Nike Inc was founded on 25 January, 1964 as Blue Ribbon sports by Bill Bowerman and Philip Knight and it officially became NIKE INC in 1978. Its journey started as sports Sneaker Company but slowly and steadily it has become a fashion statement with different Product Segments. Now they had their huge market share not just in one sport but now their products are accordingly to the different sports segment as Nike cricket, Nike football, Nike running, etc.
Using different approaches within its Journey, now Nike has become one of the strongest competitors not only in the range of product but also in the issues such as  financial discipline , Operations , Ventures , Brand Strategies, so as to grab the opportunities of Market.


Q.1)  Discuss the extent to which Nike is a market oriented company (culture and processes).
Nike has always promoted new Innovations in terms of design and products, as the founders of Nike- Bill Bowerman and Phill knight dreamed for the new kind of sneakers at the time of starting Blue Ribbon Sports, still Nike as an organization innovates the products according to the market. Nike always emphasis on Market oriented strategies, whether it’s for football, cricket, or total 90 shoes for the Street Players.
Nike has always keep market as its base, as according to need of the market Nike has changed it working style. As from the past few years Nike has devoted itself towards developing the Internal Organizational structure by improving its Information system, logistics and above all of these it has devoted its time on improving Supply chain management so that it can maintain balance between creativity and its business side. Nike spent $500million for modernizing its technology, by which the company was able to deliver the products to the customer faster and at the cheaper cost.
